WLIB is a historic AM station in New York City on 1190 kHz. Originally a Brooklyn station that took the WLIB call letters in 1942, it became one of the country's most prominent Black-owned stations after Percy Sutton's Inner City Broadcasting Corporation bought it in 1972. It was the New York flagship of the progressive talk network Air America until 2006, and in August that year it switched to gospel music, the format many listeners still associate with it. More recent listings show WLIB simulcasting sister station WEPN-FM 98.7, so its programming has changed again.
