CJOB is a news, talk and sports radio station on 680 AM in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on the air since March 1946. Its founder, John Oliver Blick, staffed it largely with returning Second World War veterans – the "JOB" in the call letters stood for his initials and for the jobs he gave them – and it was the first station in western Canada to broadcast 24 hours a day. CJOB moved to 680 kHz in 1957, joined Corus in 2000 and now broadcasts with 50,000 watts from 201 Portage Avenue. Since 2020 it has been the radio home of the Winnipeg Jets, and it marked its 80th anniversary in March 2026.
